Norway

Arctic Circle

A barren landscape with nothing but heaps of stones built by tourists.

Saltstraumen

The world's strongest tidal current. The nearby bridge is a perfect viewpoint to see this breathtaking natural phenomenon.

Bodø

Bodø's harbour is a nice place to go for a walk and the nearby Norwegian Aviation Museum is worth a visit, too.

Reine

A small but beautiful fishing village.

Lofotakvariet

A nice aquarium showing the different sea animals which live in Norway, like seals and a lot of different kinds of fish.

Nusfjord

This small fishing village, which is also a museum, is located in a fjord. Nusfjord is one of Norway's oldest and best preserved fishing villages.

Arctic Whale Tours

This whalewatching trip was great to observe a lot of different kinds of birds like guillemots, black guillemots, kittiwakes and puffins at Anda Island. There were also some seals lying on the rocks. After Anda Island the little ship set course to Bleik Canyon where the chance is big to discover sperm whales. Luckily there was one sperm whale which showed his fluke twice. After this encounter the ship returned to Stø. To see the photos I took during the tour, click here

Trollstigen

Trollstigen is a spectacular serpentine mountain road.

Geirangerfjord

This fjord is really impressive. The viewpoint Dalsnibba offers a fantastic panorama from the highest point (1500 m above sea level).

Jostedalsbreen Glacier

This is just one of the many glaciers in Norway. The glacier itself is impressive but also the way to the glacier is very nice.

This was a train ride on one of the world's most beautiful railways and one of Norway's major and most spectacular tourist attractions.

Hardangervidda

This impressive moutain plateau is the largest in Europe. To learn more about the nature of this area a visit to the Hardangervidda Natursenter is worth it.

Borgund Stavkirke

The best preserved of Norway's 28 extant stave churches.

Borgund Stavkirke

Heddal Stavkirke

Norway's largest stave church.

Bergen

Bryggen, the oldest part of the city, is stunning and the Hanseatic Museum shows how an old house looked like in Bergen.

Oslo

The capital of Norway is a beautiful city. The architecture of the Opera House is unique and Oslo offers an impressive variety of museums. I visited the Viking Ship Museum, the Fram Museum, the Holmenkollen Ski Museum and the Natural History Museum and every single museum was interesting and informative.
